#WFH Do You Believe “The World is Flat?”

Right is also very relative. Think about the things in your lifetime you were sure were right at one time, but have changed and now we know they are not. You don’t have to go back to “The world is flat” or “Letting out a little blood will fix you right up” to know that right is a moving target. The real issue is that it is moving faster and faster. It is much more difficult to tell what is right in a detached virtual environment. It is also why we hang on to the illusion of right even more vehemently. It is so easy to blame the team, the boss or the organization: Your client should have been so-and-so. The company is always doing such-and-such; they really must do it my way! The team is really disorganized; they should get it together so I can do my job. You get the idea – should, must, never and always are words that are absolutes, which make you right and the rest of the universe wrong. These attempts at being right rob you of the flexibility, agility and responsiveness necessary to be authentically productive in the virtual workplace.
